THE STORY
The term 'Windy City' was first used to describe Chicago by a Cincinnati Enquirer reporter in 1876. It was used not to refer to the chilly gusts coming off Lake Michigan but rather the hot air bellowing from politicians at the time. Almost 150 years later not much has changed.
